What exactly is the IB?
The IB is not just a single test, but a comprehensive educational programme. Most commonly, this term refers to the IB Diploma Programme (DP), which covers the final two years of secondary school (the equivalent of the final year and the year preceding it).

Student si vybírá šest předmětů z různých oblastí. Tři studuje na vyšší úrovni (HL) a tři na standardní úrovni (SL).
TOK (Theory of Knowledge):
Kurz kritického myšlení zaměřený na otázku, jak získáváme a ověřujeme znalosti.
EE
(Extended Essay):
Samostatná odborná práce o rozsahu přibližně 4 000 slov, ve které student zpracovává vlastní výzkumné téma.
CAS
(Creativity, Activity, Service):
Program mimoškolních aktivit propojující kreativitu, sport a službu komunitě. Podporuje osobní rozvoj, zodpovědnost a aktivní přístup.
What exactly is Pre-IB?
Pre-IB is not an official programme of the International Baccalaureate organisation, but a preparatory year that schools offer prior to entering the IB Diploma programme.

Academic bridge: prepares students for the rigour of the DP programme, which is especially valued by those transitioning to an international system or an English-medium school for the first time.

Skills development: focuses on core IB skills: research, effective time management, critical thinking and academic essay writing.

Subject familiarisation: offers an overview of DP subjects (languages, sciences, mathematics, individuals and societies, and the arts), making it easier for students to make their final choices later on.

Language support: assistance for students who need to improve their English proficiency to succeed in the English-medium DP programme.
