Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do I need an agency to study abroad?

You certainly don't. What does make a lot of sense, however, is having an experienced study counsellor by your side to guide you through the whole process – from choosing the school to submitting the application.

What type of schools do I place students in?

I place secondary school students exclusively in proven international boarding schools abroad.

How long does the whole process take?

Boarding school placement:

The process usually takes 3–6 months, depending on the country and the requirements of the specific school.

Placement at universities/colleges

For higher education, the procedure follows strictly set dates and application deadlines of individual universities. It is therefore important to start in good time.

General recommendation

I always recommend starting the whole process well in advance to allow enough space for quality preparation and choosing the most suitable options.

Do I need to have excellent English?

No, excellent English is not a requirement. Many boarding schools also accept students with a lower language level and offer them language support (ELL – English Language Learners).

However, specific requirements vary depending on the type of school and programme.

Academically more demanding schools may require a higher entry level, whilst others allow students to gradually top up their English during their studies.

What are the costs of studying at a boarding school?

The cost varies according to the country, type of school, and specific programme.

When preparing a budget, I always base it on the current tuition fees of the given school.

I will prepare a clear budget for you so that you know exactly what to expect.

What are the funding options for studying?

Some boarding schools offer financial aid (funding based on family need) and scholarships (based on academic or talent results).

Their availability is limited and is governed by the precise rules of the specific school.

If a school offers these options, I will explain their terms and conditions, and when it is possible to apply for financial support.

What is good to think about when choosing to study abroad?

Above all, on the accreditation of the school and the study programme, and also on how it will be possible to have the acquired education recognised in the Czech system upon return, if necessary. These conditions may vary according to both the country and the specific institution.
